- 1Be physically in Ohio for every visit, and be ready to show proof of Ohio residency, such as an Ohio driver's license or Ohio ID card.
- 2Complete your telehealth evaluation with an Ohio-licensed Green Wellness physician who holds a Certificate to Recommend. Before recommending, the physician reviews your Ohio prescription history (OARRS), as Ohio law requires.
- 3If the physician recommends medical marijuana, the physician enters the recommendation in the Ohio Patient & Caregiver Registry.
- 4Watch for the registry email, then complete your registration and activate your card there. Ohio's current fee schedule lists no patient registration fee.
- 5Download or print your digital patient card from the registry.
- 6Purchase medical marijuana at any licensed Ohio dispensary.
- 7Your recommendation lasts 90 days at a time. Your physician can renew it up to three more times, and after that you will have another visit before a new recommendation can be issued.

Yes. Ohio physicians who hold a Certificate to Recommend may evaluate patients by telehealth under the state's medical marijuana rules. Your visit is a live video appointment with an Ohio-licensed physician.
Who can register as an Ohio medical marijuana patient?
An Ohio resident with a qualifying condition and a recommendation from an Ohio physician who holds a Certificate to Recommend. Patients 18 and older register on their own. A patient under 18 needs a parent's consent and a registered caregiver.
How much does an Ohio medical marijuana card cost?
