Get Your Ohio Medical Marijuana Card Online

Ohio permits medical marijuana recommendations by telehealth from a physician who holds an Ohio Certificate to Recommend. If the physician confirms you have one of Ohio's 26 qualifying conditions, your recommendation goes straight into the state's Patient & Caregiver Registry, and Ohio charges a nominal registration fee at that point — confirm the current amount with the Division of Cannabis Control.

Ohio medical marijuana FAQ

Does Ohio allow telehealth for medical marijuana recommendations?

Yes. Ohio physicians who hold a Certificate to Recommend may evaluate patients by telehealth under the state's medical marijuana rules. Your visit is a live video appointment with an Ohio-licensed physician.

Ohio has adult-use cannabis — why get a medical card?

Medical patients skip the 10% adult-use excise tax, get access to medical-only products and higher purchase limits, and patients aged 18–20 (with a caregiver) can access cannabis legally at all. For regular users, the tax savings alone typically pay for the evaluation many times over.

How much does an Ohio medical marijuana card cost?

Ohio charges a nominal registration fee when you complete your entry in the state registry. The Division of Cannabis Control sets that amount and it is separate from your physician evaluation, so confirm the current figure at registration.

How fast can I get my Ohio card?

Fast. Once your physician submits the recommendation, you confirm your details in the Patient & Caregiver Registry and activate your digital card online — typically the same or next day.

Will I definitely get a recommendation?

No one can promise that. A recommendation is the physician's independent medical determination, made after a real-time video evaluation under Ohio's rules. You pay for the visit and the physician's time — never for a guaranteed result.
