Minnesota medical marijuana FAQ

Is there a fee for a Minnesota medical cannabis card?
No. Minnesota does not charge a state registration fee for medical cannabis patients. The only cost is the physician evaluation fee.
Is adult-use cannabis legal in Minnesota?
Yes. Minnesota legalized adult-use cannabis in August 2023. Medical cannabis patients still benefit from: access to medical-only products and formulations, higher-potency options, and priority access through the established dispensary network.
How do I purchase cannabis after I'm enrolled in Minnesota's program?
After your Green Wellness practitioner submits your enrollment to the MDH registry, you'll receive a patient ID card within 1–3 business days. Present this card at any licensed Minnesota cannabis retailer or registered cannabis patient dispensary.
