How Washington State Telehealth MMJ Evaluations Work

Green Wellness offers telehealth renewal appointments for existing patients, making it easy to maintain your Washington State medical marijuana authorization from home. Here's everything you need to know.

Who can use telehealth?

Telehealth appointments are available for returning patients renewing their existing authorization. New patients getting their first evaluation must come in person (this is a Washington State requirement). Renewal appointments via telehealth cost $140.

What you need

• A device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, or laptop)
• A stable internet connection
• A quiet, private space
• Your Washington State ID (you'll show it on camera)
• Your previous authorization number (helpful but not required)

How the appointment works

1. Book online — select "Returning patient" and choose a telehealth slot that fits your schedule. Same-day appointments are often available.
2. Receive your video link — a secure video link will be sent to your email before the appointment.
3. Join the call — your Green Wellness physician will conduct a brief medical review, confirm your qualifying condition is still present, and discuss any changes in your health.
4. Receive your authorization — if renewed, you'll receive your written authorization by email before the call ends.

Where can you have a telehealth appointment?

You must be physically located in Washington State at the time of your telehealth appointment. This is a legal requirement. You can be at home, at work, or anywhere else in Washington.

How soon will I receive my authorization?

Your renewed authorization is issued during the appointment — typically before the video call ends. You can visit a dispensary the same day.

Set a renewal reminder

Green Wellness automatically sends renewal reminders at 60, 30, 14, and 7 days before your authorization expires. You can also check your expiry date and book a renewal directly from your patient portal.
